Home Stay Information for Host Families

All international students staying in the 'home stay' situation do so in order to receive the comfort and support of a family, whilst also learning about Australian culture and language firsthand.

The home stay family need not necessarily be parents of students nor have other children living at home. For international students under the age of 18, all home stay parents and anyone over the age of 18 years living at home are requested to complete a 'Working with Children' Police Check form to obtain a 'Blue Card' which is current for 2 years.

Download the Volunteer 'Blue Card' application form (PDF document - downloads from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian's website).
